You can learn useful skills to help yourself and others around you during periods of disruption, so long as it’s safe to do so.

On these pages you’ll find a guide to first aid and other useful skills. Ready Scotland recommend using these to better prepare your home for an emergency.

Remember, in an emergency, first call 999. The calls are free from any phone.

An emergency is when:

  • Someone’s life is at risk;
  • Someone’s injured;
  • There is a fire;
  • Offenders are nearby;
  • Immediate help is needed.
