Voluntary Response

The guide in this section focuses on those national voluntary organisations that have a specific emergency response and recovery role and the capability that they offer.

How to use this guide

  • Using the 'search' facility  at the top of the page type in the kind of service you are looking for from the voluntary sector (medical, welfare, blankets, admin etc)

It's important that statutory and voluntary sector responders can work together effectively - maximising the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and major incidents.

We recognise that there are many other voluntary organisations which can offer specialist support and services at a more local level. The Scottish Government therefore intends that this national level guide will serve to complement locally developed sources of information on voluntary sector capacities which already exist.

The guide is continually evolving, and if you know of or represent a national organisation which you believe should be included in this guide please contact readyscotland@scotland.gsi.gov.uk to discuss its inclusion.
